January 2013 Youth of the Month Announcements

McKayla BanksThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls is proud to announce January Youths of the Month. McKayla Banks, of the Southwest Branch, is the Kiwanis Club of Wichita Falls Youth of the Month. Analeyce Nickels, from the Northeast Branch, is the Optimist Club of Wichita Falls Youth of the Month. Seaira Villarreal, representing the Northwest Branch, is the Rotary Club of Wichita Falls Youth of the Month.
 
Service clubs sponsor three age divisions. Kiwanis Club of Wichita Falls sponsors 6-8 year olds,
Optimist of Wichita Falls sponsors 9-11 year olds, and the Rotary Club of Wichita Falls sponsors 12-18 year olds.

McKayla BanksMcKayla Banks is the eight year old daughter of Shannon and Rebecca Banks. She attends the Southwest Branch where Ms. Tori Smith is the Club Director.
 
McKayla helps with many household-chores including keeping her room neat and clean as well as helping out in the kitchen where she loves to help make spaghetti. She has additional duties that include helping her mom take care of her 2 and 3 year old brothers not to mention a 7 week old baby sister! McKayla also takes care of the family dog. She attends Fowler Elementary where she is a 2nd grader maintaining straight A’s! McKayla loves math and says, “If you don’t know a lot of stuff then you wouldn’t know how to read or do a lot of stuff or even have a job!”
 
As a member of the Southwest Branch, McKayla has been very active in education programs to include Club Tech, Power Hour Homework Help, and Reading Programs. She also enjoys the Arts and Crafts and Photography Programs just to name a few of the many programs and activities she is involved in.

Club Director Tori Smith said, “McKayla is a happy, helpful and giggly little girl who loves to help out.”


Analeyce NickelsAnaleyce Nickels is the 10 year old daughter of Brandy Nickels. Analyce helps around the house and keeps her room neat and clean. She helps with meal preparations and cleaning up after meals as well.
   
Analeyce has been going to Evangel Temple for four years while attended Sunday school and Children’s Church. She also is a member of the YMCA. She was recruited by Colonial Baptist Church members to help dance on stage in a production.
 
As a student at Scotland Park, Analeyce maintains an A/B average and says her favorite subjects are math and science. She has participates in choir, the PTA’s play, and is a “Red Hot Radical Reader”!
 
Analyce has been active during her 4 years as a member of the Northeast Boys & Girls Club. She has enjoyed participating in a variety of programs including Football Cheerleader Program and serving as a Junior Staffer. She has submitted work in both Photography and Fine Arts Exhibits. Other programs include Camp Graham Ball, Smart Girls, Homework Tutoring, Triple Play Healthy Habits, Triple Play Challenges, and Club Tech.

Branch Director Mr. Ball said, “Analeyce comes daily and participates in just about everything!”


Seaira VillarrealSeaira Villarreal is the 15 year old daughter of Paula Villarreal. Some of Seaira’s responsibilities include laundry for the family, taking out the trash, and washing the dishes daily. She is also called on to help supervise her younger siblings.
Seaira attends Country Chapel each Sunday where she attends Sunday school and helps with the refreshments. Seaira is also in the Youth Group, Generation Changers, and attends meetings every Wednesday. She is very community oriented and has helped at the food bank and been a Girl Scout. Seaira went Christmas caroling at Texoma Christian Care and really enjoyed the experience!
 
Seaira attends City View Jr. High. She has a 3.75 GPA and says her favorite subject is Mathematics because it comes easy for her. Seaira’s long range education plans are to attend Texas Tech, attain her masters / doctorate degrees, and eventually becoming a medical-doctor. 
 
As a member of the Northwest Boys & Girls Club she has been involved in all areas of the club. She is a member of the Endeavor Keystone Leadership Club and currently serves as the secretary. Seaira participates in the annual Christmas Party, Thanksgiving meal as a server, and the annual Fine Arts Exhibit. Seaira is also religiously involved in the Power Hour, enjoys working as a Junior Staffer behind the front desk, and the Kid’s Café Program. Based on her maturity and willing attitude, she was recently selected to go on a field trip to Texas Christian University.

 Branch Staff said, “Seaira helps staff in every way possible always willing to lend a helping hand.”
