Abbey Childers

Beginning in 2015, Abbey has been one of the top members at the Central Clubhouse. She has participated in over 2 dozen different club programs, with her favorites being STEM Club, Jr. Staff, Fine Arts, Cheerleading, and Camp Graham Ball. She’s a 9-time Youth of the Month and a City Wide Jr. Youth of the Year (2021). She has been on numerous leadership trips, and has worked two summers as a Youth Camp Counselor and this past summer as a Lifeguard at Camp. This year alone, Abbey has volunteered over 250 hours. As a freshman in High School, Abbey is already off to a busy & successful start! She plays the cello and the baritone, has been a part of the student council, and is actively involved in the FFA Program. She most enjoys handling the animals, as well as welding! She maintains a 3.78 GPA. After high school, Abbey aspires to attend school at Lincoln Tech University where she hopes to study welding, engine mechanics, and possibly even business school. She aims to become an auto mechanic with welding skills, and possibly own her own shop one day!

Amillya A.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Wichita Falls, we congratulate AMILLYA A. for winning the October Pee Wee Bracket’s City-Wide Youth of the Month title! She is the 6-year-old daughter of Halee Burns, and she attends the Southwest Branch of the Clubs. As a 1st grade student Amillya makes all A’s on her report cards, and says that her favorite subject is Math! She has received awards such as Perfect Attendance, Map Master, Map gross, Reading Map Gross & Special K! She tells us that when she grows up, she would like to be a Scientist Amillya is in her first year of Boys & Girls Club membership, and she is already very active in her participation within the club programming at the Southwest Clubhouse. She can be found in the building participating in Arts & Crafts, Club Tech (Computer Club), Power Hour, Reading Club, and Triple Play Challenges, Healthy Habits, Kids Café helper, and swimming program. She was active at summer camp this past summer and had a great time!

Kylah K.

Sponsored by the Optimist Club of Wichita Falls, we congratulate KYLAH K. for winning the October Cadet Bracket’s City-Wide Youth of the Month title! She is 10-year-old daughter of Anthony Keck and her home club is the Southwest Branch. As a 5th grade student Kylah tells us that her favorite subject is Math and she maintains A’s & B’s on her report cards. She has won awards for Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll, and Jag with Swag two times. She also participates in the school choir. When Kylah grows up, she tells us she wants to go to Vernon College and become a Professional Basketball player in the WNBA. Kylah is in her third year of membership at the Clubs and she has shown her leadership skills consistently throughout the Club. She can be found participating in programs such as Arts & Crafts, Power Hour, Club Tech/Computers & Triple Play Challenges. Kylah attended camp this summer and had a blast! She states that she loves going to the Boys & Girls Club because, “I get to make new friends while having fun.”

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wichita Falls, we congratulate ABBEY C.  for winning the October Jr/Sr Bracket’s City-Wide Youth of the Month title. She is a 15-year-old daughter of Kendra & Justin Childers.

Abbey is in the 10th grade and she tells us her favorite subject is Agriculture. She maintains a 3.5 GPA. Abbey is involved in Spanish classes, plays the clarinet, is a member of FFA, and is on the swim team. Abbey tells us that one day she aspires to attend trade school and become a mechanic and a welder! Abbey is in her 9th year of membership at the Central Branch. She participates in many club programs, such as Arts & Crafts, STEM club and swimming. Throughout the years Abbey has participated in most of the club programs! She was the lifeguard this summer at Camp Graham Ball and served as a Sr. counselor. Abbey is our reigning City-Wide Youth of the Year and former City-Wide Jr. Youth of the Year, and she averages over 250 hours of volunteer service at the Clubs, each year!
